BABY’S NEST

First steps

The two pillars: prepared environment and freedom of movement the perfect combination.

In our thoughtfully arranged Nido, we prioritize simplicity and order, providing a gentle introduction to the world of learning. The limited, purposefully chosen materials await exploration, inviting curiosity and discovery.

What is a Montessori nest room like?

FREEDOM

In a Montessori Nest environment you will not find hammocks, high chairs, cribs, or swings…the child has total freedom of movement because only then does he learn correctly to develop his psychomotor skills as María Montessori said:

“The child must be allowed to be »

100% NATURAL

No plastic toys, no loud colors, no artificial music. Everything is calm and relaxed, the boy and girl can touch everything, appreciate the different textures and shapes.

They are preparing for the next stage, in Montessori the senses are fundamental because learning is totally experiential.

OBSERVATION

Observations are made daily of the children in the environment. This allows us to closely follow your progress and each of your steps.

In this way, we can offer them the appropriate materials for each specific moment of their development and be aware of their needs at all times, respecting their rhythms and progress.

6 different areas in our nest room

Bar and mirror

The bar and the mirror serve several purposes: visual development, purpose is self-recognition and the child’s first steps.

SENSORY BASKETS

With natural materials such as sticks, shells, pine cones… to develop the sense of touch and the second are wooden shapes.

INSTRUMENTS

Music is essential in a Montessori environment. The percussion basket is one of babies’ favorites: bells, triangle, claves, tambourine, castanets…

PSYCHOSENSORMOTOR

The development of fine psychomotor skills is essential for the child’s independence and for him to continue advancing towards the development of all his abilities.

BOOKS

“Open the books, open the wings” Babies get used to having books within their reach from the beginning is of utmost importance.

beds

In a Montessori environment there are no cribs but rather beds at ground level. Knowing that sleep is essential for the development of neural connections, it is of utmost importance that children are able to go to sleep when they need to.
